NYFW kicks off fashion season!
Following is London, Milan and Paris. They are the 4 main fashion weeks of the world and are in them that trends are confirmed (by the looks of street style), dictated and altered.
We started the week with Tom Ford, the giant house that returns to parade in New York. With a sexy collection for the spring / summer 2018, perfect for the confident woman and the boss. Tom brings in his line A: Julianne Moore, Kim Kardashian West and Chaka Khan.
About the collection, it’s all about the 90’s! It’s just you look at the exaggerated shoulders, glow and hair paraded on the catwalk.
We continue with Desigual, the most anticipated show of the season, featuring Jean Paul Goude, the multitasking artist in charge of the brand’s artistic director. This was the first time Goude signed a clothing collection! Goude is a renowned photographer and videomaker who has worked with Chanel and Alaia!
About the parade, it was incredible! Brought the energy of Desigual into choreographed dancers in iconic looks! I believe that this parade was a milestone in the history of the catwalk. He transformed the catwalk into a more entertaining environment with a cultural diversity, a street style chic transformed into culture.
Tadashi Shoji brings a lot of pattern and lightweight fabrics. Raj Simmons for Calvin Klein, who last season brought uniforms, cowboy boots and denim, this spring summer season did not innovate much, just added layers. Tory Burch brought fresh air to her collection in lightweight fabrics and comfortable modeling. Alexander Wang brings extra sleeves and many jackets that were cut and used as skirts. Wang’s collaboration with Adidas is giving the talk, with the extra sleeves tied around the waist.
Jeremy Scott celebrated his 20 years of show with an iconic parade. He brought Devon Aoki, his eternal muse, who pulled the parade line.
The collection was a re-reading of Jeremy’s entire trajectory. In Queue A, we had Paris and Nicky Hilton very late. Whoever saw my snap knows everything!
Philipp Plein made a lot of noise again on NYFW! In his line A, Nicki Minaj. On the catwalk, countless rappers in an incredible show and uber models such as Adriana Lima. It’s always one of the shows I love watching, it has music, entertainment, attitude, dreams, ostentation.
Coach brought the leather jackets of the 70s repaginated and a collection aimed at the digital public, the brand has rejuvenated and wants to hit the Instagramers. Prabal Gurung brought the Hadid sisters on his catwalk. He also bet on the diversity of models, cutouts, gloss, leather and transparency. A very glamorous spring / summer. Anna Sui also brings the Hadid sisters in the parade, in which Gigi lost the shoe but not the pose. No one makes a cut at leisure as well done as Anna, and no one can put together so many references in one show. Carolina Herrera also brings all the attention to the shoulders. Tom pastel, delicate print, fresh looks, Carolina’s spring / summer promises to be very rich.
Michael Kors brought slippers and much comfort on his catwalk. You know that look that goes from the office to the beach house? This one! Marchesa always very glamorous and almost a fairy tale on the catwalk. Fluid fabrics, suits and very good taste. Marc Jacobs has done two shows this season, one for celebrities and one for buyers. Exaggerated, exotic and contemporary, models came to the sounds of their shoes and slippers. I found the continuity of his last collection, the return of the street style.
